The main issue with older Android systems (version 14 or earlier) is that we can no longer reliably determine the correct configuration. This may result in, for example, the map not being displayed correctly or the app freezing or crashing. Is this also happening to you? Please check this guide to see what you can do.
If you are using an Android device with version 14 or earlier, you will find a dedicated setting in the map settings that is focused on the app’s functionality. You can access these settings by tapping the map layer button on the home screen. See App – Basics for more information about the home screen.
Advanced settings:
- Native view mode (Hybrid or Virtual display)
- Map render mode (Surface or Texture)
By default, the two left options are selected (Hybrid and Surface). We recommend trying the settings in the following order:
- Hybrid & Surface (default)
- Hybrid & Texture
- Virtual display & Surface
- Virtual display & Texture
Please try these combinations yourself to see what works best for your Android device. If the app needs to restart after changing a setting, this will be indicated.
ADVICE! We recommend only changing these settings if you notice that the app is not working properly. If you have an older Android device and the app functions normally, we strongly advise leaving these settings unchanged.
