POIs are useful landmarks that you can display on the map, such as gas stations, hotels and restaurants. You can also add these POIs to your TomTom, so that you can always see these desired POIs while navigating with the TomTom.
ATTENTION! At the moment it is only possible to use the file type .OV2 to transfer POIs to your TomTom.

In the Routeplanner
Manual
- Open the Routeplanner and add POIs to the route, see Manual 'POIs' for more information about POIs;
- Click on 'save as' and select .OV2;
- The .OV2 file can now be found in your downloads on the computer;
- Add the file to your TomTom from Explorer/Finder.
Plan.tomtom
- Open the Routeplanner and add POIs to the route, see Manual 'POIs' for more information about POIs;
- Click on 'save as' and select plan.tomtom;
- Log in with your plan.tomtom account;
- Select OV2 (POI) and click on 'send' to export the route definitively via plan.tomtom.
On the TomTom
- Open the menu on your TomTom;
- Go to the settings and click on 'Appearance';
- Click on 'Show POI lists on map' and here you will now see the list of POIs that you have added. The name is the same as the route that you have exported;
- Click on the list and adjust the symbol and the colour if necessary. ATTENTION! The changes will only be shown after the TomTom has restarted;
- To hide POIs, follow the same steps but select 'Hide'.
The list of POIs can now also be found under My Places on your TomTom. This way you can choose an individual POI to navigate to directly.
